Why Ohno Field?

"Prep is unique because you truly feel proud and want to win for your school. Playing soccer is exhilarating because not only do I have 20 other girls rooting for me, I have an entire school supporting me… I also love to attend other sporting events. Being a part of a roaring crowd and watching other athletes do what they love ignites my spirit.

Ohno Field is our outdoor HEX classroom. Replacing it is like remodeling a science lab."

ohno field at Montlake

Ohno Field at Montlake is an essential part of the Prep experience. The field bears witness to decades of gridiron action, daily use by all Prep students through the Health and Exercise Science (HEX) program, and takes a heavy pounding from our growing boys and girls lacrosse programs.

With 182 athletic championships to our name, competition and physical fitness are vital to Cura Personalis. Nearly 75% of Prep students are "scholar athletes," wearing their Prep uniform with pride.

Ohno Field is where our mission springs to life. It’s a unique extension of campus and the only public park in the city where we have scheduling priority. After years of wear and tear, the turf is at the end of its useful life. At a cost of $650,000 this project is a need, not a want. If we don’t replace Ohno Field, we could lose it. Restore it, and the opportunities for students will multiply.

Give generously to replace the turf at Ohno Field. Our student athletes work hard. They deserve facilities that set them up for success. Your gift will ignite the promise of our young people – and our school – for years to come.
