Annual Appeal
The Annual Appeal is a yearly request for contributions to the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is the cornerstone of Seattle Prep’s fundraising efforts, and helps to:
- Support the current operating needs of the school.
- Keep tuition as low as possible.
- Provide financial assistance to 31% of Prep students.
Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund provide the most flexibility in supporting students.
Why does Prep need an Annual Fund?
It is vital to our mission as a Jesuit, Catholic school that we remain accessible to all qualified students, and that the cost of tuition is not a barrier to receiving a Seattle Prep education.
Seattle Prep has been delivering excellence in education since 1891--an education grounded in our spirit of community and inclusivity and focused on forming the Grad at Grad. To fulfill our mission and to continue to provide a transformational education in the absence of the Jesuits and their “vow of poverty” labor, Prep relies on support from alumni, parents and friends.
Doesn't tuition cover the school's operating needs?
No. Seattle Prep is committed to making a Jesuit education accessible to as many families as possible, which translates into consciously setting our tuition rate lower than the cost of educating each student and offering meaningful tuition assistance to middle class families, as well as significant assistance to students who need more. We make up the difference with the Annual Appeal, the SPREE Auction, and the Seattle Prep Endowment.
What is this year's goal?
The Annual Appeal goal for 2022-23 is $1,550,000.
Who supports the Annual Fund?
Our entire community-current and past parents, faculty and staff, alumni and friends-generously support the Annual Fund with their financial contributions. Seattle Prep is fortunate to be a part of a compassionate community that believes strongly in Jesuit education and makes Prep a philanthropic priority.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes! Seattle Prep is a 501(c)(3) public charity; therefore, financial contributions are tax-deductible. Please check with your tax adviser to find out more. Our Tax ID# is 91-0644000.
How can I give?
Donations can be made through our website, employer giving campaigns, donor-advised funds, foundations, IRA charitable distributions, check and stock.
When should I give?
Prep's fiscal year runs from July 1st to June 30th. Gifts are welcome year-round. Pledges throughout the 2022-23 school year must be paid by June 30, 2023.
What is a “Matching Gift”?
Many companies match their employees' charitable contributions. Click here to see if your company (or your spouse's) match gifts or volunteer hours. To have your gift matched, follow the instructions in your company profile or let the Development Office know and we will provide you with information for your company.
