Social Justice Clubs
Global Justice Coalition
The Global Justice Coalition is a group formed by students on campus who hope to educate fellow students in the Seattle Prep community about global justice issues. Our goal is to motivate people to understand and to act against injustices in our world.
William Liu serves as moderator for GJC and is the Director for Christian Service as Seattle Prep.
Feminist Interest Group
Fiona ('20); Lauren ('21).
FIG is a group for Prep students committed to advocating for social, political, and economic equality of all genders. Throughout the year we feature guest speakers, discussion groups, and activities to further our goal of working together for gender justice inside and out of the Prep community.
Elizabeth Borgen has served as faculty moderator for FIG since 2015 and is the Director of the McKay Library.
One Voice
The mission of One Voice is to facilitate acceptance, understanding, and respect for all members of the Seattle Prep community, specifically with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity.
We invite Seattle Prep’s students, faculty, and staff to participate in One Voice activities as part of:
- Embracing the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis, per Ignatian Spirituality;
- Upholding the dignity of all human persons, per Catholic Social Teaching;
- Actively expressing special care and concern for all people, per the US Bishop's Conference;
- And being loving and committed to justice, per Seattle Prep’s “Profile of the Graduate at Graduation,” or “Grad at Grad.”
Environmental Alliance
Environmental Alliance focuses on educating Prep students on what they can do to become more environmentally sustainable and to be change makers in our community. Environmental Alliance raises awareness for the conservation of the environment by informing students about our impact as humans on the environment and how to make into a more positive impact. Our club teaches about the environment, specifically the most urgent problems we are currently facing in our world. We work to educate, encourage action and awareness, give back, and make a difference in our community.
