Boys Cross Country

Program Philosophy

The Seattle Prep cross country program aims to create lifelong runners who through thoughtful training and hard work can appreciate all that distance running has to offer. We are open to all Seattle Prep students whether they have had previous running experience or not. Our goal as coaches is that all athletes will take pride in hard work and discipline as runners and people throughout their career.

We have had great team and individual success over the years, including placing top 4 at the state cross country meet 19 times, winning the metro league 14 times, and having many top 10 individual finishers at the state meet. In addition, Seattle Prep Cross Country has consistently had one of the largest teams in the Metro league.

PROGRAM HEAD

Program Head Andrew Walker '08 is an alum of program himself and is entering his sixth season leading his alma mater.  Under his tenure the Panthers have returned to local and state-wide relevance and currently boast one of the deeper and competitive rosters around.

In 2022 Coach Walker swept away the Coach of the Year awards, being named both Metro League Coach of the Year as we well as receiving the same honor at the State level.

Andrew served as Head Coach at Gig Harbor in the 2017-18 school year and previously was Head Coach at East Valley High School in Spokane.
