Class of '61 Endowment

$50,000 for 50 Years

Mick McHugh’61 spearheaded the effort to establish the Class of 1961 Endowment to remember and honor all the deceased members of the Class of 1961, following their 50th “Golden Panther” class reunion.

“I think it’s important to remember our deceased classmates of whom we all have fun memories. By establishing a Seattle Prep Student Tuition Endowment in memory of the deceased members of the Class of 1961, we not only honor our classmates, but also their remaining families. This endowment will enable future students of need, maybe even our own grandchildren or great grandchildren, a Prep education in perpetuity,” Mick McHugh ‘61.

Mick and his fellow reunion committee members reached out to their classmates asking for their financial support to establish a class endowment designated for tuition assistance. “It’s only appropriate, don’t you think, our goal should be a minimum of $50K? We made our mark in various ways with our God given multiple talents when we were here as students (from A to E!) and we did it again as 50 year alums, now let’s leave something in our classmates memory for generations to come. And we would be the first 50th class out of the 59 classes before us, to leave this mark!” McHugh ’61.

It is with much gratitude that we thank the 37 members of the Class of 1961 for their gifts totaling over $20,000. The goal is to reach $50,000 in the near future!

"This endowment will enable future students of need, maybe even our own grandchildren or great grandchildren, a Prep education in perpetuity,” Mick McHugh ‘61.
