This will be an exciting and transitional year for the Girls Cross Country program at Prep. One of the most valuable parts of our sport is the ability for all levels of runners to learn about themselves. I truly believe a run can change a day or a life and my goal is to inspire young women to learn the lessons and joy of running. We are spoiled to be in the Northwest with beautiful areas and trails to cover on a run. Many of our practices and time together will be spent exploring what nature has to offer.
The goal this season is to foster a competitive environment yet also a fun, safe and inspiring team. I am ecstatic to be back in the Prep community and share how running has shaped much of my life with these athletes.
Carey Parker is a proud Panther (class of ’09) and former runner during one of Prep’s most successful stretches in Girl’s Cross Country program history. She is eager to bring that team energy back in her first head coaching role, after serving as a volunteer assistant in 2013 and most recently at another Metro League school.
