Program Philosophy

From a personal and coaching perspective, I have a long history with (and love of) swimming. I truly believe that swimming is a Lifelong Sport; one that can positively affect so many different aspects of one's life. As the coach, I will strive to:

  • Promote physical fitness
  • Develop leadership qualities and sportsmanship
  • Champion team involvement and mentorship
  • Build self-confidence and positive body-image awareness
  • Cultivate strong time management skills, including educational prioritization

Above all, I am looking forward to providing a fun, positive and supportive atmosphere for our team to reach it's goals. I'm looking forward to working hard, having fun and enjoying Seattle Prep's swim season this Fall.

Meet the Coach

Kirsti Rochon brings with her 20+ years of swim instruction and coaching experience. An avid swimmer and triathlete herself, she grew up swimming at Bellevue Club and on Mercer Island (Mercerwood Shore Club & Mercer Island High School), including being a part of a 4-year run as State Champions. With coaching experience at Tam O'Shanter and Seattle Tennis Club, she returns to her love of coaching swimming after raising two daughters, and looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for this Lifelong Sport.
