Prep Admissions

How to Apply

There are three requirements to apply for admission to the 9th grade:

1. Complete a Seattle Prep Application

All applicants must submit a completed Seattle Prep Application for Admission and fee by 8:00AM on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. There are two ways to complete the application, online and paper.

2. Submit School Forms to the Applicant's Current School
You must forward the Confidential School Report/Transcript Request Form and the Confidential Teacher Evaluation Form to the applicant's current school. You can download the forms HERE.

The student’s school must complete and send the forms to the Seattle Prep Admissions Office along with an official transcript (most recent standardized test results and grades from at least 7th and 8th grades) by the January 8 deadline. You may want to follow up with the applicant's school to ensure that the forms and transcripts have been sent by the deadline. The Admissions Committee cannot consider incomplete applications.

3. Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT)
Seattle Prep uses placement test results as one piece of a holistic review of each application. The test results alone are not a primary determiner of acceptance. We strongly discourage families from paying for preparation courses or hiring tutors. The HSPT will be offered at Prep on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 9:00AM and on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 1:00PM in St. Ignatius Hall. Online pre-registration for the Seattle Prep test dates must be completed by December 2. Those who would like to apply to take the test with accommodations must complete the online pre-registration by November 12.
