Apply to Prep
There are three requirements to apply for admission to the 9th grade:
1. Complete a Seattle Prep Application
All applicants for 9th grade must submit a completed Seattle Prep Application for Admission and fee by 8:00AM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Early application deadline is Sunday, December 13, 2020.
Tuesday, December 15, 2020
Zoom into Prep's Future!
President Kent Hickey and Principal Dr. Erin Luby will discuss the virtual learning environment this year and its impact for next year, as well as upcoming projects at Prep that will enhance the experience of the Class of ’25. For an invitation to this Panther Chat, please complete the following sections of the application by December 13, 2020: Family Information, Student information and Essay, Parent/Guardian Essay, and Application Fee.
2. Submit School Forms to the Applicant's Current School
You must access and send the Confidential School Report/Transcript Request Form and the Confidential Teacher Evaluation Forms to the applicant's current school using the Veracross admissions portal. Please check with the applicant's school to confirm who should receive each form.
The student’s school must complete and electronically submit the forms to Seattle Prep along with an official transcript. This includes standardized test results and grades from at least 7th and 8th grades by the January 6 deadline. Applicants may want to follow up with their school to ensure that the forms and transcripts have been sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by the deadline. The Admissions Committee will not consider incomplete applications.
3. Register for a Panther Bite Virtual visit (optional)
Applicants in the 8th grade who are interested in Prep should begin the process by first creating an online admissions account in Veracross (step 1 above). Visits take place from October - December. Once the admissions account has been created in the portal, not only can 8th graders register for a virtual visit, but they can also submit an application, electronically send school forms to their school, and track application status.
4. Sign up for Interview
New this year, Seattle Prep requires 8th grade applicants to submit a short video answering an interview question. In lieu of an in-person visit, the video gives Prep an opportunity to know a bit more about our applicants during COVID-19. Video Submissions dates are Friday December 4 at 4:00 PM or Saturday, December 5 at 1:00 PM.
Questions? Please contact Payton James.
Seattle Prep will not require the HSPT (High School Placement Test). Applications must include most recent standardized test scores from 6th - 8th grade (step 2 above). Additional standardized test scores will be accepted.
