Community and Belonging

Diversity Mission Statement
At Seattle Prep, Community & Belonging is an expression of our Jesuit, Catholic identity and our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Rooted in the belief that every person is created in the Imago Dei—the image and likeness of God—we strive to form a community where all students are seen, valued, and supported in their growth.
Our work is guided by:
-
The Universal Apostolic Preferences of the Society of Jesus, especially our call to walk with the excluded and journey with youth.
-
Catholic Social Teaching, which upholds the dignity of every human person and the common good.
-
The Jesuit Schools Network (JSN) Framework for DEIB, which provides a faith-based foundation for fostering just, inclusive, and compassionate communities.
Together, these guideposts shape how we teach, lead, accompany, and build relationships. Community & Belonging is not a standalone initiative at Seattle Prep—it is a central part of how we live out our mission to form people for and with others.
Our Areas of Focus
Seattle Prep’s Community & Belonging work centers on three interconnected areas that shape the student experience and the culture at Prep.
