Helping Victims in Japan

Rice Bowl

Seattle Prep is collecting money for the Japanese relief effort following the earthquake and tsunami there.  Seattle Prep is already participating in the Lenten Rice Bowl collection for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and 30 percent of the Rice Bowl collection received in the Archdiocese this year will be designated for Japan relief.   Rice Bowls are located throughout the school and in Community Ministry, room 104 McDonnell.    People can also give directly to Catholic Relief Services’ Japan Relief by donating online at www.crs.org or by sending a check to the Seattle Catholic Archdiocesan Missions Office, payable to Catholic Relief Services and noting “Japan Relief” in the memo section.

Origami Paper Cranes

Seattle Prep students are also folding Origami Paper Cranes as a fundraiser to help rebuild Japan.  Seattle Prep is teaming up with Students Rebuild, DoSomething.org and the Bezos Family Foundation.  For each paper crane we make the Bezos foundation will donate $2 to Architecture for Humanity's reconstruction efforts in Japan.   http://studentsrebuild.org/japan/
