National Honor Society
To be a member of the National Honor Society does not only mean recognition among an extraordinary group of high school students, but also the chance to share one's intellectual gifts with the community. Being a member of this organization is quite an honor. Thus, only selected persons who meet the previously determined requirements can be selected into this pool of student leaders. The academic requirement is a cumulative GPA of 3.5, however, community service, work experience, extra-curricular activities, and leadership opportunities will be noted during the application process. After being accepted into the National Honor Society, one is immediately responsible for being an active member in this community, including attendance at meetings, project fulfillments, assisting Back-to-School nights, and fundraising opportunities. The National Honor Society project is a year-long service commitment dedicated toward the local or broader communities. These projects, however, are targeted toward academics. Thus, National Honor Society is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the school and community, be a member of an elite organization, and continue your academic achievements.
