Tuition Assistance Scholarships Application

Applying for Tuition Scholarships

To help you complete your 2024-25 application, Seattle Preparatory School will host a virtual Tuition Scholarship information session through Zoom on the evening of Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 6:00 PM. A link to register for the session will be available September 1, 2023.

The deadline for tuition scholarship applications and 2022 supporting documentation is December 31, 2023, for all new and returning students. The deadline for 2023 supporting documentation is February 1, 2024. These applications are initially processed by the professional service, School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS). Please see the checklist below and follow all the steps to apply.

All questions regarding Seattle Prep’s assistance program should be directed to Manny Ovena, in the Controller's Office, at (206) 577- 2138, or email here. All questions regarding the SSS application should be directed to SSS Customer Service at (800)344-8328.

Step 1: Complete the online Parent's Financial Statement (PFS) by December 31, 2023

Seattle Preparatory School uses School and Student Services (SSS) to handle a major portion of the computation in our assistance process.  Based on the information you provide, SSS calculates an estimated amount that your family can contribute to educational expenses.

The SSS online application is available on September 1, 2023.  Go to https://www.solutionsbysss.com/parents and click on the prompt to begin your Parents' Financial Statement (PFS). You will create a PFS Online account with your email address and a password that allows you to complete the PFS over more than one session. If you applied for a Tuition Scholarship last year, login to PFS Online as a returning family. Only one PFS application is needed per family regardless of the number of children applying. All material submitted to SSS will be secure. All SSS applications must be submitted no later than December 31, 2023 to be considered for the 2024-25 registration process. Be sure to use the Seattle Preparatory School code (7247) when completing your SSS application.

Divorced or separated parents must both complete an SSS application and submit the supporting documentation to SSS before their child's file can be considered for assistance. In these instances where more than one application is submitted for a child, please make sure the child’s name matches exactly on each application.

Step 2: Submit your 2022 supporting documentation to SSS

Submit your 2022 supporting documentation to SSS after you have completed your PFS and by the December 31, 2023 deadline.  To upload your documents, login to your PFS account and follow the prompts. It’s important to know that the system can only accept documents under 10 megabytes in size. Please note that it is the family's responsibility to make sure that their assistance file is up-to-date. Incomplete files cannot be reviewed. In addition to the online SSS application, the file must include:

  • 2022 Federal taxes (be sure to include all schedules and forms)
  • 2022 W-2s and 1099s

Step 3: Submit your 2023 supporting documentation to SSS

Your 2023 W-2s and 1099s must be posted to your SSS file by February 1, 2024. To meet this deadline upload documents to SSS by January 29. If you are unable to mail or upload your documents in time to post them to SSS by February 1, 2024, you must also submit them to Seattle Prep Tuition Scholarships at the address shown at the bottom of this page (or fax to 206-323-6509) ASAP in addition to submitting them to SSS. We cannot guarantee the processing of incomplete files after February 1. Federal tax returns should also be submitted if available. Business owners MUST submit their 2022 business financials by February 1, 2024 (drafts okay). Supporting documents needed:

  • 2023 W2s and any income related 1099s
  • Business owners must submit a 2023 Schedule C or equivalent (draft ok)
  • 2023 Federal taxes if available (be sure to include all schedules and forms)

It is the family's responsibility to make sure that their assistance file is complete. Incomplete files cannot be reviewed.
