Boys Basketball

Program Philosophy

Prep's boys' basketball program is another co-curricular used to help form our students in the mission of our school and the Graduate at Graduation. Our core beliefs are rooted in the Jesuit tenets Virtus in Arduis, the Magis, and ad majorem Dei gloriam

We believe playing hard is a skill and there is an inherent goodness that shows up in our play on the court when we do simple things well.

We desire to be a team that plays hard, plays smart, and competes at the highest levels of high school basketball while developing important life skills and becoming more selfless and gritty. We aim to play a brand of basketball that reflects this.

Meet the Program Head

Granville Emerson is entering his second year as the Program Head of boys basketball.  With over 17 years of coaching experience under his belt, and more than a decade at Seattle Prep, Emerson leads the program with grace, determination and persistence.

Prior to coming to Seattle Prep, Granville served as the head coach of the Northwest School.  He also continues to coach AAU basketball, and has worked with some of the top players up and down the west coast.
