Prep Admissions

How to Apply

There are three requirements to apply for admission to the 9th grade:

1. Complete a Seattle Prep Application

All applicants must submit a completed Seattle Prep Application for Admission and fee by 8:00AM on January 8, 2018. There are two ways to complete the application, online and paper.

Online Application-$35 Fee

First Time Users: Submit the Pre-Application

A first time user is someone who has not submitted the Pre-Application form, nor completed any forms for previous applicants (this does not include registration for the HSPT).

If you are a first time user, you must begin the application process by clicking the Pre-Application Form link below. After submitting the Pre-Application, you will receive an email that will give you access to your user account and a link to set up your password. Your user account and password will then give you access to your Admission Portal to begin the online application at your convenience. If you have already completed a Pre-Application Form and/or you already have a username and password, see below for information regarding “Returning Users: Apply Online.”

Note: You will not receive a confirmation email when you have completed the application. Within your portal, each section has a progress bar. As each section is completed, the progress bar will change to show completion. Your application is fully completed once all the sections show the Green Completion status.

Returning Users: Apply Online

If you have already completed the Pre-Application Form or are a current Seattle Prep parent with a Veracross username and password, you may access the online Admission Portal and online application by clicking the Seattle Prep Admission Portal link below. Then enter your username and password. If you do not remember your username or password, click the “Forgot Password” link inside the Admission Portal. A reset email will be sent to you.

Note: You will not receive a confirmation email when you have completed the application. Within your portal, each section has a progress bar. As each section is completed, the progress bar will change to show completion. Your application is fully completed once all the sections show the Green Completion status.

2. Submit School Forms to the Applicant's Current School
You must forward the Confidential School Report/Transcript Request Form and the Confidential Teacher Evaluation Form to the applicant's current school. You can download the Confidential School Report/Transcript Request Form HERE. Our strong preference is for teachers to complete the Confidential Teacher Evaluation Forms online. The teacher evaluations can be sent to teachers through the online application process. If that is not possible for your school, you may download the Confidential Teacher Evaluation Form HERE.

The student’s school must complete and send these forms to the Seattle Prep Admissions Office along with an official transcript (most recent standardized test results and grades from at least 7th and 8th grades) by the January 8 deadline. You may want to follow up with the applicant's school to ensure that the forms and transcripts have been sent by the deadline. The Admissions Committee cannot consider incomplete applications.

3. Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT)
Seattle Prep uses placement test results as one piece of a holistic review of each application. The test results alone are not a primary determiner of acceptance. We strongly discourage families from paying for preparation courses or hiring tutors. The HSPT will be offered at Prep on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 9:00AM and on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 1:00PM in St. Ignatius Hall. Online pre-registration for the Seattle Prep test dates must be completed by November 11. Those who would like to apply to take the test with accommodations must complete the online pre-registration by November 3.

Families may also wish to apply for Tuition Scholarships
If you wish to apply for a Tuition Assistance Scholarship, please click on Tuition & Tuition Assistance Scholarships for information about our assistance program and instructions for application. The deadline for tuition scholarship applications is December 31, 2017.
